Domain Names

Domain names are the backbone of virtually every Internet activity and constitute an important part of corporate branding strategies. We assist companies with preparing the documentation required for selling, buying, and transferring domain names. Such documentation may, for instance, consist of domain name purchase agreements and domain name registration agreements. Our services also include cooperating with escrow service providers to ensure the effective and secure implementation of contractual obligations.

We provide representation with regards to the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP). Our experience shows that, before commencing an UDRP case, it is better to conduct an extensive evaluation of the merits of the case and commence UDRP proceedings only if the chance of success is sufficiently high. Such an evaluation will not only save time and money for the potential complainant, but will also reduce the risk of engaging in a reverse domain hijacking (i.e., filing a complaint in bad faith, which results in the abuse of the UDRP administrative process).

We also have arbitration experience in the field of the UDRP.
